They were given a Provincial Conversion Rate Award by the Trillium Gift of Life Network earlier this month (2nd) for their efforts in integrating organ and tissue donation into quality end of life care. Pathologist and Co-chair of the HPHA Organ and Tissue Donation Committee Dr. Tyler Rouse says credits the hard work of the staff in being able to bring the number of donor registration up.

Breaking: COVID-19 outbreak declared over at Stratford General Hospital SHARE ON: A COVID-19 outbreak at the Stratford General Hospital has been declared over. The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says the outbreak in the Medicine Unit at SGH has been declared over by Huron Perth Public Health. The outbreak was first declared on December 3rd after two staff tested positive for COVID-19. Seven staff members in total were affected by the outbreak while no patients acquired the virus while in hospital. With no further cases, the Medicine Unit has been reopened to admissions and transfers.

They were given a Provincial Conversion Rate Award by the Trillium Gift of Life Network earlier this month for their efforts in integrating organ and tissue donation into quality end of life care. Pathologist and Co-chair of the HPHA Organ and Tissue Donation Committee Dr. Tyler Rouse says credits the hard work of the staff in being able to bring the number of donor registration up.     Dr. Rouse says the more times people discuss their wishes with their families, the better the hospital will be in increasing the number of potential donors.

Middlesex-London sees 71 new COVID-19 cases ahead of lockdown

  MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ONT. The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) is reporting 71 new COVID-19 cases and four new deaths Monday after a record-setting weekend. The new cases and deaths bring the region’s total to 2,543 cases, 2,022 resolved and 91 deaths, leaving 430 active cases, On Saturday, Middlesex-London set a new single-day record with 87 cases, topping the previous record of 66 cases set the day before. An additional 65 cases were reported Sunday. In total, 152 new cases were reported on the weekend. Of the four deaths, a man and woman in their 80s were associated with a long-term care home. Of two others, a man in his 60s and another in his 80s, one is associated with the outbreak at University Hospital.
