The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s school board voted 7-0 on Tuesday evening to select Angela Huff as interim director of schools.
Huff, who currently serves as chief of staff at CMCSS, was recommended June 2 by Millard House II, the outgoing leader of Clarksville s public school system.
Meanwhile, the school board waived the six-month notice provision in House s contact, which will allow him to leave CMCSS on June 25 and start his new job as superintendent of the Houston Independent School District in Texas on July 1.
On May 21, House was named HISD s lone finalist the school district is the seventh-largest in the nation. House expects to officially be named HISD superintendent on June 14.
