BROWNSBURG, Ind. A Brownsburg teenager who was shot while sitting inside a vehicle has died.
The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office says the 17-year-old was sitting in a Jeep with another person on Haag Road, in a subdivision northeast of Brownsburg, on Tuesday afternoon. Around 3 p.m., someone driving a black, four-door car pulled up next to the Jeep and fired several shots.
Freddie Hegwood II was taken to a hospital but died Wednesday morning. The other person in the Jeep was not injured.
Police are still looking for that black, four-door car possibly a Chevy Impala and are needing more information as the investigation continues.

UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Freddie Hegwood II.

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office says the 17-year-old male victim was shot just after 3 p.m. in the 10200 block of Haag Road. That’s near North County Road 1000 East and East County Road 650 North.
Investigators say the victim and another person were in a vehicle when someone in another vehicle opened fire.
HCSO says a residence was shot as well.
Investigators say the suspect vehicle is described as a black, four-door car, possibly a Chevy Impala with paint peeling off the roof.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (WISH) A juvenile was seriously injured Tuesday in a shooting in a Brownsburg neighborhood.
Deputies from the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 10200 block of Haag Road that’s a residential area near North County Road 1000 East and East County Road 650 North just after 3 p.m. for a person shot on Haag Road, Capt. Amanda Goings said at the scene.
Two people were inside a vehicle when another vehicle approached and someone opened fire from that vehicle. A juvenile in the first vehicle was shot and taken to an Indianapolis hospital in serious condition, Goings said.
