HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - The first small vaccination hub in Henrico Countyâs west end opened Thursday, bringing in dozens of people for their COVID-19 vaccines.
This vaccination event at the Islamic Center of Henrico is not the first vaccination hub in the Richmond/Henrico area, but it is all part of the health districtâs plan to create more pop-up locations in local communities.
Mass vaccination events will continue at the Richmond Raceway for a period of time, but the health district is now focused on bringing these vaccines to you in your community.

The Richmond and Henrico Health District also has its own mobile vaccine team doing similar work within the two districts. Officials say that between the programs, 110 people have been vaccinated so far.

RICHMOND, Va. Richmond and Henrico Health District officials provided an update on their COVID vaccination efforts Thursday.
Officials said 36% of people in their district have received their first dose of a vaccine and about 22% are fully vaccinated as of Thursday.
Amy Popovich, nurse manager for the district, said the Johnson & Johnson vaccines made up about one-third of Virginia s vaccine supply, and with those on pause, some in Phase 2 may have to wait a little longer to get an appointment.

RICHMOND, Va. Some people who have been waiting months for a COVID-19 vaccine are now eligible and eager for a return to normalcy.
The Richmond and Henrico Health District, the Chesterfield Health District and the Chickahominy Health District announced Friday they will start scheduling Phase 2 eligible people for their COVID-19 vaccine appointments for as soon as next week. That means vaccines will be open to people in metro Richmond 16 and over who want one.
