Northwell Health Sends Nurses to Henry Ford Health System as Part of Strategic Alliance to Fight COVID-19
Northwell Health, New York States largest health system, has sent 12 nurses to Michigan-based Henry Ford Health System to help clinicians there care for a rising number of patients suffering from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The staff sharing is occurring as part of a newly formed strategic alliance between the health systems, created to strengthen their ability to fight the new coronavirus and more effectively support the health and well-being of their communities.

Ascension and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital were the first two medical facilities in the county to debut their vaccine distribution plans. McLaren Macomb hospital in Mount Clemens is scheduled to launch its preventive effort on Friday.

Increasingly over the past few days, more health systems in Michigan are beginning to receive a steady flow of Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine shipments and inoculation efforts have expanded across the state for front-line health care workers.
Five of McLaren Health Care s 15 hospitals on Thursday morning received UPS shipments of vaccines totaling 5,850 doses, said Barton Buxton, president and CEO of McLaren Health Management Group, who is coordinating vaccine efforts. They all came in at once. . There are no promises (of how many). You ask for doses. We asked (the state) for more than 30,000 for our 15 hospitals in the first delivery wave. We asked for the same number for the second delivery, Buxton said.
