Here’s a new response for parents – and teachers – who are looking for an enriching online experience, one they too can enjoy: virtual history tours of Westfield. “With the pandemic, we saw a need to provide things for teachers to use with their students and families to do together,” says Cynthia P. Gaylord, one of the volunteers working on the project. “While I am the chair of the Westfield Historical Commission, these tours really came out of discussions from our Historic Education Subcommittee from Westfield’s 350th celebration in 2019. With everything else we had planned for the 350th, we never had the time to work on them in 2019.”
