C. American lawmaker nominates Cuban doctors for Nobel Peace Prize
Guatemala, Feb 1 (Prensa Latina) Guatemalan legislator to the Central American Parliament (Parlacen) Aura Lily Escobar proposed Cuba s Henry Reeve Medical Contingent for the Nobel Peace Prize, it was announced on Monday.
In a letter to the president of the Nobel Committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen, Escobar based her petition on the voluntary contribution from the members of the brigade to the fight against the SARS-COv-2 coronavirus, and their contributions to save thousands of lives around the world, she affirmed.

Cuban doctors have 38 British Nobel Peace Prize nominations
London, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuba s Henry Reeve Medical Contingent on Thursday added four new nominations for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize from British legislators, totaling 38 formal proposals submitted from the United Kingdom.
The new proposals in favor of the Cuban health workers were sent to the Norwegian Nobel Committee by Lawmakers John McDonnell, Ian Mearns, Zarah Sultana and Angus MacNeil, the Cuba Solidarity Campaign informed.
In a communique, the four parliamentarians highlighted the wonderful contribution to world health that the Henry Reeve Medical Contingent has made with its humanitarian and solidarity work in countries affected by epidemics and natural disasters, especially at times when the world is facing the Covid-19 pandemic.

On a press briefing in this capital, various social organizations, indigenous peoples and lawmakers of political parties officially presented the proposal of nomination of the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Situations of Disasters and Serious Epidemics to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 2021.
The Committee highlighted the role of Cuban healthcare professionals in fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic, and their disinterested presence in over 30 countries.
