University leaders said a move to allow international students to sponsor their families for the duration of their studies would prompt a rise in enrolments in the UAE.
The UAE Cabinet directive is set to encourage more learners to make the Emirates their chosen destination for undergraduate and postgraduate courses – and give them the incentive to lay down roots in the country long after they finish their academic journey.
Higher education chiefs said the decision would help students plan their futures.

After breaking ground in 2019, construction on The University of Birmingham’s state-of-the-art campus in Dubai International Academic City is on in full swing. Ranked among the world’s top-100 universities, the elite British institution will accommodate up to 2,900 students upon completion.

With the vaccine for Covid-19 now being rolled out, I expect that by mid-2021 we will see the start of a global economic recovery. Travel will start to pick up as people are anxious to start to travel again for both business as well as pleasure.
Closer to home, the Expo in Dubai will play a significant role as a large-scale key global event that will kickstart the economy post the pandemic. It will also be an opportunity for the world to showcase what business and society in general will look like in the new normal.
