Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente Jr. announced Thursday the push to hire workers to vaccinate residents is going well, one day after the positions and funding were approved by the Oneida County Board of Legislators.
“We’re ramping up even faster than I hoped for,” Picente said during a brief Facebook Live presentation. “… We need to get the vaccine into people’s arms and not sitting on the shelf.”
Picente said the county already has received 30 applications from nurses looking to help administer the vaccine and 10 applications for support staff.
