Owner of stolen Croxley Green dog given death threats from caller

An owner of a stolen dog has been receiving a series of malicious calls threatening to harm the dog. Gerald McCarthy, 69, who lives in Croxley Green had his six-year-old Chihuahua called Molly stolen from a communal garden outside his flat in Grove Crescent on March 18. Concerned about her safety, Mr McCarthy placed posters around the area asking for information about Molly and offering a financial reward for her safe return. But the flyers, which contained his phone number, were then used maliciously from an unknown caller demanding for money in return for his dog. Mr McCarthy says the callers have threatened to slit Molly’s throat, and threatened to harm him, if he does not send over money – roughly around £1,000.

£110k worth of cannabis was in Bushey home struck by fire

It is believed around £110,000 worth of cannabis was in a Bushey home which was struck by a fire. A fire broke out on the edge of Bushey Heath first thing last Tuesday (April 6) and multiple fire crews rushed to the scene. The road in Sparrows Herne was closed by police for most of the day, only reopening at around 5pm. It has now been revealed that police believe there were 200 plants worth around £110,000 before the fire broke out. Some of the affected homes But due to the damage of the fire, only 60 plants worth around £34,000 were recovered by officers. Hertfordshire Constabulary says no arrests have been made at this stage.
