Gama Aviation, the global business aviation service provider, is pleased to provide an update on trading for the year ending 31 December 2020.
Underlying performance, excluding the Company s share of losses from its associate China Aircraft Services Limited ( CASL ), remained stable during the second half of the year. The second half includes the residual benefits from government support programmes. Operational performance partially recovered in the second half of the year, after having experienced the significant impact of COVID-19 on the aviation sector and the business. In the Ground division there was a positive trend quarter on quarter from the second quarter lows. Third quarter and fourth quarter engineering hours were 74% and 80% respectively of the equivalent periods in 2019. Kleinsasser is a flight instructor at the Heli Austria Flight Academy at Bad Vöslau in the east of the country, not far from the Hungarian border. The general aviation airfield here offers the ideal headquarters for the company’s training base. Free from the environmental constraints and traffic levels of Austria’s major airports, it nevertheless has good facilities, and is also the home of one of Heli Austria’s rescue helicopters.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified a new Alternate Gross Weight (AGW) for the latest version of the H135 family of helicopters. The new AGW enables operators to benefit from an increased maximum take-off weight of up to 120kg (265 lb) and useful load. This increase can also be used to extend the range by up to 75 nm or the endurance by up to 40 minutes under standard conditions. The new AGW is available as an option and can be applied retroactively to all H135s equipped with Helionix.
