Bayshore Medical Center: New emergency department in $48M expansion

HOLMDEL - Bayshore Medical Center is nearing completion on a $48 million expansion that will include a new emergency department where a nurse instead of a receptionist will see patients at the door. The Dr. Robert H. Harris Emergency Care Center will have nearly three times more space than the current emergency department, along with more private rooms and imaging services. It now is the front doors to this hospital, said Frank Citara, chief hospital executive. We have to make sure that the care is appropriate, and the best care possible. Bayshore has 172 in-patient beds and a staff of 700 full- and part-time employees. It is owned by Hackensack Meridian Health and serves northern Monmouth County.
