ALBANY Fifteen year old Maliha Jackson was really looking forward to the Christmas tree lighting this year. Maliha was upset that there wasn t going to be a tree lighting it s one of the few things she s able to attend in the wintertime, Maliha s mom, Aqilah Jackson explained.
She s in end stage renal failure.
The eighth grader goes through ten hours of dialysis each night and wanted to do something to lift up spirits this season and brighten up Albany. Her idea was for everybody to put a candle or a light or something on the window and on a certain day everybody light it and I said I have no idea how to implement something like that, Jackson said.
