Vake, 25, remains in a critical condition in Auckland City Hospital this morning, police confirmed. A family member told Tongan news site Kaniva News that the family had asked doctors to keep their son and brother on life support as friends and family uplifted him in prayer.

The 25-year-old last night remained in a critical condition in Auckland City Hospital after an incident in Auckland central in the early hours of Sunday morning. Friend Mike Angove, of City Kickboxing, said he had been with the Vake family at hospital until about midnight and that the young man was fighting hard to stay alive.
