Hyderabad: The ring main project taken up by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is running at snail’s pace. Out of the 158-kms inter-connected water line grid planned, the water board has only completed 9-kms pipeline works at Muthangi-Kokapet.
Officials said that the state government did give sanctions for the remaining 148-kms ring main, which would, when completed, quench the thirst of residents living in the outer ring road (ORR).

Hyderabad: The Aadhaar seeding to avail 20 kilo-litres of free drinking water per month has been progressing at snail s pace as thousands of consumers have transferred the ownership of their water connections.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has noticed that several consumers, despite changing the ownership of houses as far back as two decades ago, did not change their names on the water connection and this continued in the name of the first landlord who has sold the house.

The City Convergence Meeting at the GHMC headquarters on Thursday has resolved for coordination among various departments for the special drive towards identification and rehabilitation of the persons involved in begging across the city.
Speaking at the meeting, GHMC Commissioner D.S.Lokesh Kumar said already several programmes have been taken up to ensure a beggar-free city, and a fresh drive will be taken up soon to identify beggars and conduct rehabilitation and livelihood training programmes for them.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) issued guidelines to avail the free water supply of 20,000 litres per month to the people under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits.
As promised in the election manifesto of the recently held GHMC elections, the TRS government implemented the free water scheme this week.
A total of 10.6 lakh people receiving water and nearly nine lakh of them are eligible for the scheme. Under the scheme, water consumption of up to 20 kilolitres is free and around 35,000 to 40,000 residential complexes get 20 KL of water on alternate days.
