Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Monday that he was not answerable to prime minister or any minister but to the provincial assembly. He said that the chief minister was not answerable to any person, including to the prime minister except to the provincial assembly. “My answer may not be taken as negative but as a matter of fact that the chief minister is only answerable to the provincial assembly,” he said. He said while talking to the media just after inaugurating Diagnostic Complex and Dow Institute of Life Sciences at Ojha Campus. Addressing the house, Shaikh referred to the hourslong loadshedding in various districts of Sindh and said, “Power companies have made the life of people miserable.” He added that the Sindh government itself is not generating the power, but is involved in mining of coal in Thar. KARACHI: Provincial Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh on Thursday informed the Sindh Assembly that injustice was being done with the people of Sindh as 18-hour electricity loadshedding was being carried out across the province, adding that the provincial government was ready to take control of power distribution companies Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) and Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco) on its own terms and conditions for betterment of the people. He was responding to a calling-attention notice of Grand Democratic Alliance’s Arif Mustafa Jatoi. Mr Shaikh said that the provincial government was involved only in coal mining under public-private partnership and had nothing to do with electricity production and its transmission.
