Almost 22 years after the Sindh Land Utilisation Department (LUD) handed over 220 acres of land to the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC) to establish a graveyard, the land s demarcation is expected to complete in the next 15 days on the Sindh High Court (SHC) order.
The Hyderabad circuit bench, comprising Justice Nadeem Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan, was assured on Tuesday that the demarcation, which had been delayed for decades, will be completed in 15 days. … demarcation of the subject land shall be completed within 15 days, Hyderabad deputy commissioner Fuad Ghaffar Soomro stated before the bench.

HYDERABAD: Accountability Court Judge Inam Ali Kalhoro on Saturday sentenced a former chairman of the Hyderabad Railway Employees Cooperative Housing Society Matloob Ahmed Khan to five years’ imprisonment in a land scam involving Rs1.48bn losses caused to the national exchequer. The convict was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs5m.
The accused had absconded after being named in the National Accountability Bureau reference but was arrested later.
Hyderabad citizens face acute water shortage as suspension comes without notice

Cropping up as a stark reminder of the civic agencies blatant disregard towards vulnerabilities of the consumers, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) created an acute water shortage for a large segment of Hyderabad s population by Sunday. The situation, which stemmed from rupture in main pipelines of 18 inch diameter a week ago in Qasimabad, persisted through Monday evening.
Another pipeline of the same size in Qasimabad went burst some days ago, further compounding the problem.
The pressure of the water supply for almost all of Qasimabad was lowered a week ago, and on Saturday the supply was halted altogether.
