Pinner man charged after police officer injured in Camden vehicle stop

Three charged after police officer injured in vehicle stop A man from Pinner has been charged in connection with an incident where a police officer was hit by a car in north London. At around 10.25pm on Thursday May 6, police on patrol in Camden stopped a car. The Met says an officer sustained leg injuries after being hit by the vehicle in Lowfield Road. Jordell Menzies, 24, of Brunswick Close, Pinner, has been charged with dangerous driving, assault of an emergency services worker, driving with no insurance and obstruction. Navone McKenzie, 33, of Clement Close, NW6 has been charged with breaching the terms of a criminal behaviour order.

Eco-warriors scale HS2 s London HQ and spray it with fire extinguishers full of pink paint

HS2 Rebellion protesters have climbed onto the top of the controversial rail line s headquarters and used modified fire extinguishers to paint it pink. Xavier Gonzalez Trimmer, 20, and Dr Larch Maxey, 48, clambered onto the canopy of building s lobby in Euston, central London, at 10am this morning clutching industrial spray paint machines.  Footage shows the pair showering the facade of the building in neon pink paint, to show their support of the Burning Pink Party, as police tell onlookers to stand back.  A fire engine and at least three police officers were at the scene this morning as the protesters tried to stop the development of the HS2 railway, claiming it will emit 14million tonnes of CO2. 

Extinction Rebellion: Nine women charged after Canary Wharf protest

Windows were shattered at HSBC s headquarters in Canary Wharf during a demonstration on Thursday. The Earth Day protest was staged to draw attention to the bank s links to the fossil fuel industry, the activists said. The nine women will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court later. London mayoral candidate for political party Burning Pink, Valerie Brown, 68, is among them. Met officers were called to Canada Square at 07:10 BST and the women were arrested and subsequently charged.

Teenage girls admit string of Hampstead robberies

Highbury Corner Magistrates Court. - Credit: Archant Two teenage girls have admitted four robberies which took place in Hampstead in March.  The duo - both unnamed due to their age - appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Wednesday. The girls are aged 16 and 17, and they admitted robberies which took place on March 21 this year.  In each instance lone women were targeted and physically or verbally assaulted before being robbed. Some of them were forced to withdraw cash by the girls.  The pair were remanded in youth detention and will be sentenced at Highbury Corner on May 12. You may also want to watch:

Teenage girls charged with Hampstead robberies

The Met have charged two teenage girls over four robberies in Hampstead - Credit: Archant Two teenage girls are set to appear in court today charged with a series of robberies in Hampstead. The duo, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on April 20 at addresses in Barnet over four offences which took place on March 23.  They were to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court this afternoon. The Met said the victims were lone females who alleged they had been punched or kicked before being robbed or forced to withdraw cash. The police is also reminding people to take care, stay aware of your surroundings, pay attention to who’s around you and plan your route home in order to minimise the risk of crime.
