The sale of mini cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, increased by 4.4 per cent to 24,927 units as compared to 23,883 in the same month last year. Similarly, sales of compact segment vehicles, including models Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, rose by 18.2 per cent to 77,641 units as against 65,673 cars in December last year. Utility vehicle sales, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, and Ertiga, also rose 8 per cent to 25,701 units compared to 23,808 units in the year-ago month, MSI said.

Honda Cars India continued its positive sales momentum after registering a monthly domestic sales of 8,638 units in December this year as against 8,412 units in corresponding month in 2019. The growth year-on-year is 2.65 per cent. The company also exported 713 units in December 2020.
The sales figure in December is however lower than what Honda achieved in November. The company sold 9990 units during in November 2020 which when compared to the sales in December show a degrowth of 14.5 per cent.

Honda Cars India exports stood at 713 units last month
Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) on Friday reported a 2.68 per cent increase in domestic sales to 8,638 units in December as compared to the same month last year.The company had sold 8,412 units in the domestic market in December 2019, HCIL said in a statement.
Exports stood at 713 units last month, it added. 2020 was a challenging year but the industry showed great resilience and realigned their businesses in the new normal. Quicker market recovery aided by increased demand for personal mobility and our steady positive sales momentum is very encouraging, HCIL Senior Vice-President and Director Marketing & Sales Rajesh Goel said.
