Howard County Executive Calvin Ball on Tuesday announced an emergency bill to move $6.5 million in county funds to shore up coronavirus response efforts.
Ball is asking the County Council to reallocate funds from the 2021 fiscal year budget to support residents and businesses. The aid would include $2 million to support Howard County Economic Development Authority grants and loans, $1 million to support expanded intensive care capacity at Howard County General Hospital, $1 million in rental assistance, $1 million in food and utility assistance and $1.5 million for educational support and child care programs.
