Islamabad [Pakistan], June 29 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan s special aide on religious affairs has said ulema (body of Muslim scholars) fully support the statement of the country s Prime Minister regarding women s hijab and dress.
During a press conference on Sunday, the special representative Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that Islam is the protector of women s rights, adding that Imran Khan s remark about hijab was legal and in accordance with Holy Quran and Sunnah.
Further defending the PM, Ashrafi said that Khan s remarks about women s clothing were targeted by some elements for political reasons, Business Recorder reported. The representative said that the Quranic order about hijab was equally applicable to men that they should keep their eyes down.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan would extend all possible support to the reconstruction efforts in Gaza, and cooperate with Palestine, said Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, special representative to the prime minister on Religious Harmony and Middle East.
Talking to foreign media, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan himself was in constant touch with the latest situation in Palestine. He said that the important government functionaries were also active on the situation of Palestine on the instructions of the prime minister. “We are in touch with governments and embassies of Palestine and Egypt,” he said.

LAHORE: On the call of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), Youm-e-Palestine was observed all over the country on Friday.
Clerics and religious scholars of different schools of thought urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations Organisation (UNO) in their Friday sermons to take practical measures to prevent atrocities on the oppressed people of Palestine.
At the religious congregations, resolutions were also adopted by clerics and religious scholars, who said that on the request of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the OIC ministerial level meeting should be called to take practical steps on the situation in Palestine.
