Fundada no Ano de 1990, quando iniciou as atividades do Canto Coral com 4 naipes, regido por vários anos pela Maestrina Ivânia Marinho e desde 2003 tem por seu Maestro Nivaldo Santiago.
O Coral Voz e Vida, desde sua fundação vem se apresentando dentro e fora do Estado de Minas Gerais.

Desde outubro de 2005, o Coral Voz e Vida, com o intuito de incrementar e dar um impulso na sua ação cultural, lançou o “Projeto Crescendo com Música”, idealizado, projetado e coordenado pelo seu atual regente, o Maestro Nivaldo Santiago, Projeto este que visa musicalizar crianças e adolescentes, na faixa etária de 7 a 18 anos, com atividades de coro infanto-juvenil e formação instrumental.
Esse trabalho gerou a formação da Camerata – núcleo da Orquestra de Câmara da cidade, que já está com cerca de 15(quinze) instrumentistas.

Por meio destas atividades pretende-se, não só, sensibilizar o público para a música, mas também contribuir para despertar nos jovens o interesse para outras formas de expressão artística, como também, dotá-los de uma habilidade técnica que na fase adulta poderá vir a se tornar sua atividade profissional, principal ou secundária.
