Detailed description is La batterie d’Azeville, située au nord de Sainte-Mère-Église, sur la commune d'Azeville dans le département de la Manche, à 10 km de Utah Beach, est une batterie côtière allemande et l’une des premières constructions du Mur de l’Atlantique en France.Seconde Guerre mondialeLa batterie allemande d’Azeville fut édifiée à partir de 1941.
Son implantation marqua le début de la présence des Allemands sur le littoral manchois.
Elle fut construite très près du village d'Azeville et utilisera un camouflage de pierre peintes pour se confrondre avec des maisons du village.
Elle comprenait deux casemates de type H650 et deux casemates de type H671, chacune abritant un canon français Schneider de 105 mm datant de la Première Guerre mondiale.
Ces canons étaient puissants et de portée moindre que la batterie voisine de Crisbecq.Plus de 300 mètres de galerie dont la moitié en souterrain reliait les casemates à différents abris, soutes, poste de défense de la batterie et bloc de production électrique.
