Detailed description is Bedrock Village Caravan Park & Tours Bedrock Village is owned by Jo and Joe Lockyer and run with the help of our lovely staff.

In 1994 we bought a 9 acre block of rocks and noxious weeds which was once used to run milking cows.
We built ourselves a house, then a shed and were quite content, Joe working for himself as a bore mechanic and me doing 11 hours a week as the administrator at the local school.
We had discussed planting pumpkins on our block to supplement our income but before we embarked on this ambitious project we noticed a stream of caravans going straight past our front door, usually on the way to somewhere else and came up with an even more ambitious project, to build a caravan park! .
During our travels, we had never been in a caravan or a caravan park, preferring to sleep in a .
swag under the stars.
Late in 1997, we cleared a small portion of our land and proceeded to .
build a caravan park.
This was no mean feat, for each rock .
we pulled out it bought 10 mates with it! .
Our equipment was a 1968 Backhoe, a 1983 Dozer and a 1971 Ford F350 tip truck for Joe and a shovel and a crowbar for me!! Our labourers were 3and 4 years old!.
Somehow, we did it, and opened in June 1998 with 8 powered sites, 6 unpowered sites and 2 self contained cabins.
I continued to work at the school and .
Joe as a bore mechanic until 2000 and in one way or another, in between we managed to run .
the park and raise our two children..
Every year we have continued to make improvements to our park .
to create what we have today..
In 2009 we reached the back fence which was a celebration, .
the fence had seemed a long way away in the beginning and after 12 years we have run out of land to continue to expand!.
We have planted over 5000 trees, carted about 15000 metres of soil and sown 7 acres of .
lawn to create our “little oasis”.
