Detailed description is Colégio Estadual Pio XII O escudo da Escola é em homenagem ao papa Pio XII, que do qual se tomou o nome para batismo da instituição.
O brasão de armas do pontífice continha o lema "A obra de justiça é a paz." Encontrava-se no brasão uma pomba pousada sobre uma rocha exibindo no bico um ramo de oliveira..
Verificando a Bíblia, encontramos na história do dilúvio, em Genesis capítulo 8 versículo 11 a seguinte passagem sagrada que se enquadra perfeitamente no brasão do papa:.
"E a pomba voltou a ele à tarde; e eis, arrancada, uma folha de oliveira no seu bico; e conheceu Noé que as águas tinham minguado de sobre a terra.".
Fundada em 1961 pelo então frade capuchinho, frei Maurício Mercatello, de nacionalidade italiana, que trabalhou incansavelmente na construção do ginásio.
Segundo ele, necessitava-se, em Jaguaquara, de uma escola de orientação católica, em virtude da cidade já possuir uma instituição escolar de cunho protestante.
Seja qual for a motivação desse religioso, o importante é que a Escola Estadual Pio XII veio para contribuir com o desenvolvimento da Toca da Onça.
O frade citado juntamente com o vigário frei Lucas de Queimadas serviram de operários na construção do colégio, tais quais os trabalhadores contratados.
Bravos homens, sem os tais não teríamos a Jaguaquara que temos e conseqüentemente menos oportunidades para os jovens e toda população..

O vigário frei Maurício, posteriormente voltou para terra de nascimento, ficando frei Lucas, assumindo a direção geral da instituição e dirigindo-a por cerca de três anos, passando o cargo ao frei Serafim do Amparo, que durante dois anos serviu aos interesses da escola.
Deixando-a ao encargo do frei Mariano de Inhambupe, que por mais de trinta anos serviu-a como diretor e professor..

Frei Mariano foi mais do que um simples diretor; foi um pai para os alunos, professores e funcionários.
Amava a escola.
Amava aos estudantes como filhos, aos professores e funcionários como irmãos.
Esse homem, como poucos na história, renunciou aos bens materiais e a si próprio em prol de uma causa..
