Detailed description is we are dysfunctional robots!.Collapsing New People is an Austrian Electropop band founded in 2002 by Cy New, Didi Disko and Loona Cox in Vienna..

Only a few months after the band was founded their debut-album Concrete View was released.
This album was fully recorded and published with do-it-yourself method and is not in stock anymore..
Concrete View was mainly influenced by post-punk and new wave.
Soundwise this album is guitar-heavier and more crude than later publications..
Revolution Girl – only released on the compilation New Dark Age Vol.
1 - was Collapsing New People’s first underground hit.
Shortly after its publication Loona Cox left the band and was replaced by Lola Blixx..
In 2005 Collapsing New World – the band's second album – was released.
Sound and songwriting were much more evolved and elaborated than on their debut; the songs are more electronically and melodiously and despite a dark undertone there is a strong influence of pop music for the first time..
Tracks like Regressive Attack or Collapse Collide Capitulate were published on many compilations.
Though the CD was successful it became quieter for Collapsing New People.

Between 2005 and 2011 single tracks were release on the Internet.
Also the band played a few exclusive live-gigs e.g.
as the headliner of Fake-festival in Nancy in 2006, in New York City and Budapest in 2009 and at the Big Brother Awards in Vienna in 2011..
Besides Cy New and Didi Disko the live shows were completed by Ebenezer Nein (Bass) and Echo Eerie (Synths), Lola Blixx already left the band in 2006..
2010 Collapsing New People started working on their third album Crash Test Junkie that was finally released by Klanggalerie in June 2012.
It is the bands first album that is not distributed by the band itself.

Crash Test Junkie is a consequent development towards Electropop but includes elements of Funk or Trip Hop as well and is hard to categorize genre-wise..
During the process of creating Crash Test Junkie the band felt influenced by Dada, Art Brut, Film Noir and Science Fiction.
Songs like Deny Me or Stop deal with personal, others like Money or Candy Floss more with socio-critical issues.
For the latter the band partially used rhetorical devices like subversive affirmation.

There are music videos for Deny Me, Waiting In Your Planet’s Glow, Heaven Help Their World Break Down, Always On The Run, Hide & Seek and Seereen; some songs from Crash Test Junkie were used as soundtracks for political documentaries.

Currently the band is working on their fourth album with their new member Timmi Trash (E-Drums, Sampling).
For the members of the Austrian team Collapsing New People there is nothing wrong in looking into the past of music while at the same time venturing into its future.
The group was founded in 2002 in Vienna where — at the concert in Einstürzende Neubauten — four musicians decided that they want to change the world with sounds created with their own hands.
Digging deep into the emotions caused by the newly-discovered post-punk and early electronic led them to their creative experimentations with music.
Eventually the experiments bore the distinctive sound of Collapsing New People — a mixture of pop of the 80s and electronics from the 90s and complemented with the musicians’ interests, such as dada, art brut, film noir and science fiction.
Every single musical and non-musical element was firstly deconstructed and then rebuilt anew in order to fit into the modern epoch, but also in order to foreshadow the future.
Even though the group is not ashamed of their inspirations and is not afraid to derive from them, Collapsing New People is so much more than just the sum of its elements.
Their ingenious take on music along with their respect for the past has created something unique and refreshing — something that has a fine chance of becoming a noteworthy experience for the listener, regardless of whether he values experimental music or not.
