Temos um novo jeito de ver, sentir e cuidar da juventude sobralense! O Colégio Sobralense Experimental em Tempo Integral Maria de Lourdes de Vasconcelos, localiza-se no distrito de Aracatiaçu a 65 km a leste de Sobral e 200 km de Fortaleza, o distrito inicialmente foi denominado de Santo Antônio de Aracatiaçu pelo ato provincial de 18 de Março de 1843, passou a denominar-se apenas Santo Antônio pelo decreto estadual nº 448, de 20 de dezembro de 1938.
Em 1948, obteve a denominação atual, Aracatiaçu e tem uma população com 5.786 habitantes e sua distribuição por gênero é equilibrada, sendo 49,43 % do sexo feminino e 50,57 % do sexo masculino, tem como atividades econômicas a agricultura, pesca, artesanato e micro empreendimentos.
Os principais pontos turísticos são: o açude, a Estátua do Vaqueiro situada no centro do distrito, o Olho D’água do Pajé e o Santuário de Nossa Senhora de Fátima.

O referido colégio recebe o nome em homenagem a professora Maria de Lourdes de Vasconcelos, que prestou grande contribuição para a educação do distrito, lecionando por aproximadamente 30 anos.
O mesmo atende inicialmente a 412 alunos do 6º ao 9º ano, sendo três turmas de cada ano.
E toma para si a responsabilidade de formar seus alunos concentrando esforços no processo de ensino aprendizagem, desenvolvendo um trabalho voltado para despertá-los, a fim de proporcionar o senso de corresponsabilidade no educando por seu futuro, focando o protagonismo estudantil como base para a elaboração e a consolidação do projeto de vida.
Processo este, não individual, mas coletivo, envolvendo no planejamento, na organização e no desenvolvimento do plano de ação..
O projeto do Colégio em Tempo Integral tem imensa importância, pois é um modelo novo de ensino em que nossos alunos permanecerão em processo de aprendizagem integral.
Além das disciplinas curriculares os alunos terão atividades lúdicas e recreativas que possibilitarão uma nova forma de estudar e aprender.
Ressaltamos também a importância dessa escola para a comunidade tornando-os parceiros e acima de tudo, aliados no processo de aprendizagem dos alunos, fazendo inclusive com que os pais vejam seus filhos de um modo diferente, acreditando que eles podem crescer e mudar a realidade de onde vivem, tornando assim para eles uma imensa felicidade em saber que seus descendentes terão a oportunidade de estudar em um colégio com estrutura e ensino de qualidade..
