Health And Disease Foundation is non-profit non-government organisation that supports the cause of downtrodden and needy in India .
Health and Disease medical education and research Foundation is conceived by Dr Rajesh Dogra , who is a highly qualified and senior doctor from Mumbai (refer Marquis Who's Who in the World 2014 -31st Edition) .
He served Army Medical Corp for over 25 years before taking voluntary retirement to launch this NGO in 2001 while simultaneously practicing medicine.
He got associated with the organisation right from conception and have taken the onus of organising events and programmes for the organisation and also raising funds despite his growing age and health constrains.
As of now There are many prominent doctors and personalities who are associated with this organisation..
The objective of the organisation is to deliver direct benefit to the poor and downtrodden people, especially those living in slum areas and orphanages who do not have access to proper nutrition , health education and medical assistance, through its health and education programmes.
H And D also organises professional lectures on medical and health problems for general practitioners and general population .
It also publishes and distributes the health related literature and help people in learning about good health practices and becoming self dependent in health related matters..
We are bringing together doctors, specialist doctors, philanthropists and nutrition experts to train people taking care of these little flowers and aging angels, so that we may help in making them self-sufficient and self-sustaining .
We are testing the nutritional status of these deprived people and offering on the spot advise and material assistance to them to help in dealing with their food and nutritional deficiencies.
We are checking their hepatitis B and hepatitis C status (major potentially deadly illnesses of liver – more common in community living), and have launched a massive immunisation programme against hepatitis B .
We are offering free advanced investigations and medications to people found positive and carrying the significant load of these viruses ..

All this is done through personal visits of group members to orpahanages and slum areas, lectures , nukkad (short ) meetings with small groups , social media , helping other organisations, direct counselling of affected populations and their caretakers , free medical consultations , laboratory tests and treatments of needy people, plantations of useful trees, .

Forty per cent of population of India is deprived of adequately balanced food leading to mental and physical mal-development in many of them .
Many of those people are going to hold key positions in deciding the destiny of India and ruling this nation.
We have seen and we know from our dietary analysis of food consumed by this population that Schemes like mid – day meals and cheap food grain to BPL population is not going to improve this situation.
it's a mammoth task and no single organisation will reach anywhere solely on it's own, even the mighty govt of India and state governments have failed to improve this situation as we have seen from recent media reports .
A huge network and a concerted effort by able bodied and financially sound people is required in this direction so that this population become sensitive to and aware of nutritional requirements and disease prevention.
