IMSA was formed way back in 2008 when it was just an online forum for medical students.
But, over the years it grew popularity as many enthusiastic students joined in and it was late in 2011 when the need for a proper registered organisation was felt.
Accordingly with help from seniors and advisors we applied for registration as a "Non-Profit Organisation".
But, as per the rules of the law getting registered as "Indian Medical Students' Association" is not allowed, and hence, IMSA was registered as Indus Medical Students' Association..
Although we are still popularly known by our former name..
