INDOBARÇA muncul ke tengah-tengah komunitas fans club sepakbola di Indonesia menjadi wadah pelepas dahaga untuk seluruh penggemar atau fans FC Barcelona di Indonesia, karena walaupun Barça telah dikenal luas oleh rakyat Indonesia akan tetapi belum ada komunitas fans khusus FC Barcelona yang bisa menampung aspirasi para fans FC Barcelona di seluruh Tanah air..

Embrio IndoBarça berawal dari grup milis yang bernama indobarcamania@yahoogroups.com pada medio tahun 2002.
Milis tersebut awalnya hanya berbicara seputar FC Barcelona, dengan kata lain belum ada aktifitas untuk bertranformasi menjadi suatu fans club.
Namun milis tersebut sempat vakum cukup lama karena kesibukan para anggotanya..

Pada tahun 2008, enam anggota milis, yaitu: Kiki (Jakarta), Sony (Jakarta), Tray (Jakarta), Indah (Jakarta), Amel (Bandung), dan Anggoro (Jogjakarta) kembali melakukan komunikasi satu sama lain dan ini merupakan cikal bakal pondasi terbentuknya IndoBarça..

Para anggota tersebut berkumpul kembali justru dilakukan ketika prestasi Barça sedang terpuruk dalam rentan waktu musim 2007 sampai 2008.
Saat itu Barça tidak berhasil meraih satu trofi pun di kancah domestik maupun Eropa.
Namun, hal itu tidak menyurutkan enam anak muda tersebut untuk berkumpul dan kembali berdiskusi tentang FC Barcelona..

Pertemuan diantara para anggota milis tersebut terus berlangsung secara intensif, akibatnya muncul berbagai aktifitas dalam bentuk kegiatan.
Hal ini ditandai dengan adanya kegiatan nonton bareng pertandingan Barça dan futsal dengan tujuan mencari teman yang sama-sama menyukai Barça..

Seiring berjalannya waktu, maka keinginan untuk memperjelas status fans club ini muncul dan tepat pada tanggal 23 Mei 2009 dengan bertempat di Hanggar Futsal IBM, Jakarta secara resmi IndoBarça resmi berdiri dan diperkenalkan ke publik sebagai fans club FC Barcelona di Indonesia..

Tahun 2014, merupakan salah satu tahun bersejarah bagi IndoBarça.
Karena pada tahun ini, tepatnya pada bulan maret, IndoBarça mendapat kepercayaan dari FC Barcelona sebagai fans club resmi FC Barcelona di Indonesia yang pertama.
Pihak Barça memberikan nama resmi, yaitu Penya Barcelonista IndoBarça..
