Detailed description is Official Fan Page of Kalutara Vidyalaya Senior Western Brass Band.
Kalutara vidyalaya started their first Western Band in the year 1996 as a melodica band under Mrs Thanuja Karavita.
After 7.
years they felt the need of a brass band.
To convert the melodica band to a brass band they required funds to purchase the .
neccessary instruments.
So, they decided to hold a talent show to collect funds.
In the years 2004 and 2005 the Western Band .
members held a talent show called "KEVIANS" to collect funds to purchase brass band instruments.
After the success of .
"KEVIANS" talent show they purchased the neccessary brass band instruments and formed Kalutara Vidyalaya Senior Western .
Brass Band (KVSWBB) in 2006.
Mr Rathnayake of the Armoured Corp of the Army was appointed to train the members of the .
brass band and Dinura Wijesundara was appointed as the leader of the Western Brass Band..

Kalutara Vidyalaya Senior Western Brass Band (KVSWBB) got the opportunity to participate at the South Asian Games (SAG) 2006 .
Brass Band Display held at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
From thereon the Kalutara Vidyalaya Senior Western Brass Band (KVSWBB) .
started to show their talents at the Independence Day Celebrations, School Interhouse Sportsmeet, Divisional School Games.

For the first time in the year 2009 they got the invitation to participate .
