fue fundada el 22 de Octubre de 1898 como una Sociedad Colectiva por los tres hermanos Justo Cuevas, Félix Cuevas y José Martin Cuevas.
Años después los hermanos se separaron y José Martin Cuevas inició la empresa que hoy en día es Cuevas Hermanos S.A.
y el 14 de Febrero de 1920 se trasformó en Sociedad Anónima..

En sus comienzos Cuevas Hermanos se dedicaba a los rubros de alimentos y ferretería, a la importación y exportación de productos agrícolas y a la explotación de un establecimiento ganadero en el Chaco..

Con el fallecimiento de José Martin Cuevas, asumieron la sociedad sus nueve hijos.
Hasta que en el año de 1967 esta sociedad se dividió en dos.
Cuatro hermanos asumieron el establecimiento ganadero y los demás cinco se dedicaron a la empresa Cuevas Hermanos S.A..

El negocio originalmente estuvo ubicado en la manzana de la actual Plaza del Panteón de los Héroes, mudándose posteriormente a la tradicional esquina de Tacuary y Cnel.
Bogado, finalmente el 13 de Octubre 1983 se trasladó al actual local de Abay 452 e/México y Caballero, donde hoy se encuentra la Casa Central de Cuevas Hermanos S.A..

Hoy, la empresa se encuentra en expansión continua, tanto física como organizacionalmente, para el año 2012 está planificada la inauguración del edificio corporativo de Cuevas Hermanos S.A, que alojará las oficinas de la Casa Matriz.
Contará con una superficie de 4.500 metros cuadrados, dejando así el local del centro para realizar la ampliación del área de Post Venta y Repuestos.
Con estas remodelaciones se busca homogeneizar la imagen de Nissan a nivel mundial así como garantizar un alto estándar y orientación al cliente.
En cuanto a expansión organizacional, ha cambiado su estructura verticalista, por una estructura más flexible con la creación de gerencias manejadas por personas ajenas a la familia Cuevas, en tanto que el directorio, se mantiene 100 % en manos de la familia, trabajando en conjunto la 3° y 4° generación de la familia Cuevas, encargada de decidir el rumbo de la empresa, en todas sus aéreas.
