No início da década de 1970, o evangelho chega à cidade de Floresta, trazido pelos batistas.
O trabalho missionário realizado por irmãos americanos teve sua continuidade pelo Pr.
Camilo, na época pastor da Igreja Batista de Cabrobó/PE, também teve a cooperação do Pr.
Cícero Bezerra, na época pastor da Igreja de Belém do São Francisco/PE.

A Primeira Igreja Batista de Floresta começou a frutificar ainda nesta década, sendo os primeiros batismos das irmãs: Jovelina, Senhora Leal e Toinha.
Esse primeiro momento de pregação do Evangelho, na cidade de Floresta, foi muito difícil, mas, com muita fé os crentes em Jesus Cristo perseveraram e começaram a colher os frutos, com a chegada de novos irmãos na fé..
No ano de 1995, o Pr.
Alcides Novaes, que na época era o pastor responsável pela congregação em Floresta, repassa a mesma ao pastor José Zuca Alves, pastor esse que vinha da cidade do Recife/PE, sentindo o chamado de Deus para pastorear a igreja no sertão Pernambucano.
No mês de Março de 1996, a congregação é organizada igreja e nasce então, a Primeira Igreja Batista em Floresta..
No ano de 2004, chega ao campo de Floresta o missionário Carlos Alberto Nunes da Silva e sua esposa Elânia Corte Lima Nunes, que deram continuidade ao trabalho que vinha sendo desenvolvido com a pregação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo e que hoje colhem os frutos do seu trabalho, vendo vidas se rendendo aos pés de Cristo e a igreja do Senhor Jesus crescendo em graça..
Hoje, a igreja conta com 76(setenta e seis) membros e 29(vinte e nove) congregados.
Tendo 06(seis) congregações, sendo 04(quatro) delas em parceria com a Convenção Batista Pernambucano..
