Prof.R.V.Dhanapalan, established an Educational Foundation in the year 1991 in memory of his father and named it as Vaiyapuri Mudaliar Educational Foundation.
The foundation is a public trust with the object of providing educational facility and opportunity for all the deprived section of the community in general and with a special thrust for women’s education particularly in the rural area, that too in the field of science and management..
In furtherance of the above objective, the foundation obtained the permission of Government of Tamilnadu in Government order no.
T.N.G.O.Ms.371 dt 26.3.1991, to establish a college for women at Kelambakkam, located in the Southern part of Madras Metropolis.
The college established in 1991, is affiliated to the University of Madras in their communication No---- dt--- and started functioning from 16.6.1991..
The Inaugural ceremony was solemnized by eminent personalities like Supreme Court Judges, Ministers and Vice Chancellor.
