When elderly people in hospices or old age homes have a final wish, there aren’t many people who would hear them out, or to help them fulfil that wish.
Sometimes, the wish can be something as simple as a last visit to a Chinese Opera, a plate of chicken rice.
At other times, it could be to find a long lost kin.
This is a growing challenge.
21% of more than 70,000 old people > 80 years old feel lonely and uncared for.

how this project came about....
.
In 2003, the Rotary Club of Bukit Timah initiated a project called “Staying .
Connected” to match volunteers and resources with the personal wishes of elderly in Nursing Homes and those living alone in one room HDB apartments.
These had great benefits for the elderly.
However, due to a lack of social media and online tools to create awareness and coordinate such efforts, the project faced great challenges.
This issue was raised by Ms Henny, at infoCommUnity, a network of social media practitioners on 21Mar 2012..

The decision was taken to initiate a social media project to rekindle excitement in this initiative for the sake of the elderly.
Youth Without Borders, a Not For Profit youth organisation has volunteered to drive this project.
To that end, YWB initiated “Project: One More Thing”, a social media initiative to support the effort to meet the final wishes of elderly and terminally ill people in Singapore.
