Lt Colonel Bhasker Gupta is a serving Artillery Officer, of Jun 1992 batch, with professional training in Journalism & Mass Communication.
He started his career as a trainee sub-editor, with `The Times of India, Delhi in 1990,but,heeding the clarion call of the Olive Greens, left it midway.
Within his 23 years of career, he has been editor of IMA Journal, Unit Newsletters, Rising Star Digest (a Corps HQ Newsletter),The Owl (DSSC Magazine), the most prestigious being Editor of `BAATCHEET’-Indian Army’s monthly newsmagazine(from 2009 to 2012).Besides, he has contributed over 200 articles to various magazines like Jetwings, Sainik Samachar, Asia Defence News, Indian Military Review, and co-authored two previous books for Army-`Military Humour’ and ‘Footprints-Indian Army’s landmark achievements.’ .
The author did a short stint at 34 SSB, which was truncated by nomination for the prestigious Defence Services Staff Course at ,Wellington, Nligirs, in 2002.
A double masters in Defence Studies and Business Administration, he is presently on Study Leave, pursuing PhD in International Relations from JNU, N Delhi.
In his spare time, he coaches and mentors candidates/aspirants for Armed Forces.
An avid travel writer, Col Bhasker has travelled far and wide, both in India and abroad.
