One of the biggest problems people have with restaurant food is that most of the dishes taste the same.
We had experienced the same in our past while we visited many restaurants in Pune.
We were determined not to repeat the same mistake when we started Tawa Street.
That is why our menu is limited and each item tastes completely different and has varied gravy and texture..
Butter chicken: Our butter chicken is Dilli ka original butter chicken with no sweet, no onions and no coconut.
We use desi chicken (not broiler), which is marinated overnight in tandoori masala and then roasted in our tandoor before it goes in the tomato gravy.
Our gravy has tomato, garlic, ginger, our garam masalas, kaju cream, khus khus and amul cream.
That is why you get that creamy texture when you feel and taste our gravy.
In many other restaurants, if you leave the gravy to rest for an hour, you can see the water separating from the gravy.
This is not the case with our gravy because of the rich ingredients like kaju and khus khus which we use in our gravy.
This dish is ideal to go with butter naan aur lachaa paratha..
Chicken Tikka masala: If you want to taste the tandoori chicken in rustic masalas and thick onion tomato gravy, this is the dish for you.
Less creamy and more on the spicy side, this has a much stronger taste of masalas mixed in thick onions and tomato gravy.
