Detailed description is ศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนาชาน้ำมันและพืชน้ำมัน (Tea Oil and Plant Oils Development Center) ติดต่อได้ที่ :053-734140 ต่อ 0,231 ศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนาชาน้ำมันและพืชน้ำมันได้เริ่มเปิดดำเนินการอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อต้นปี พ.ศ.
2554 จากพระราชดำริของสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดา สยามบรมราชกุมารี โดยให้จัดตั้งศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนาชาน้ำมันและพืชน้ำมันเพื่อใช้เป็นโรงงานหีบน้ำมันจากเมล็ดชาและเป็นสถานนีวิจัยและพัฒนาเกี่ยวกับพืชน้ำมันอื่นๆ หลังจากทีก่อนหน้านี้ได้ทรงมีพระราชดำริให้สำนักงานมูลนิธิชัยพัฒนาและมูลนิธิแม่ฟ้าหลวง ได้ดำเนินการศึกษาและทดลองปลูกต้นชาน้ำมันสายพันธุ์ Camellia Oleifera ที่ได้รับมาจากสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนบนดอยสูงทางภาคเหนือของประเทศไทยมาตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.
2547 .
