Detailed description is This page is for upcoming events and general information The Hotel was first known as "The Stables" , and was constructed in 1891.
The Hotel was owned by George Perkins .

In 1893, JJ George, a Dentist, had a consulting room at The Stables.
Patrick Keough had the Stage Coach Station on this site.
It was situated on the Eastern side of the Hotel in 1898.
It's purpose was to provide a changeover place for the horses that were drawing coaches from Taree to Port Macquarie, Patrick Keough was a coach driver in 1889..
A Liquor Licence was granted to Mr Stanton, Kew Royal Hotel on the 16th October, 1894.
The first beer was served on the 9th November, 1894.
By 1895, George Perkins and Mary Ann Adkins were the owners.
They extended and renovated the building in 1898 and sold the premises later in that year, to Henry Forster..
William O'Neil purchased the Hotel in 1901 and owned it until 1905.
William O'Neil then sold out to G Burroughs who operated the Hotel until 1908.
He in turn sold the Hotel to John T Cahill.
The Hotel at this time had a striped roof and provided accommodation.
In 1911 John C (Jack) and Emily McLeod owned the Hotel and remained owners until 1923.
During this period Hugh Boyd held the Liquor Licence.

Mrs Eliza Greig purchased the Hotel in 1924 and operated it until 1927.
During Eliza's ownership the Hotel burnt down, (1925), but business continued in temporary premises next door..
The Hotel was rebuilt in 1926 and sold to Samuel Myer Mendelson in 1927, but he retained ownership of the Hotel for a very short period, 1928.
Harry Newbold purchased the Hotel and bought some new staff with him..
