Primeira atleta brasileira a se classificar para os Jogos Olímpicos Rio 2016..Yane Marques começou no Pentatlo Moderno em outubro de 2003 quando seu atual e único técnico, Alexandre França foi transferido pelo Exército para Recife.
Na ocasião, Alexandre fundou a Federação de Pentatlo do Recife e Yane foi convidada por Nuno, auxiliar técnico do Nikita Natação, clube onde nadava, para competir Biatlo.

Quando fui apresentada à modalidade, achei interessante e desafiadora.

Yane nunca tinha atirado, tão pouco jogado esgrima.
Sem nenhuma experiência, iniciou as quatro modalidades (esgrima, equitação, tiro e corrida) e se manteve nos treinos da natação pra cumprir a temporada.
Daí em diante, foi melhorando e se apaixonando cada vez mais pelo esporte..
