>> hey, folks, yeah. tension in part of the country throughout israel, throughout the world, as a matter of fact, on the escalating land incursion by israeli forces in gaza against its faux hamas. at this stage of the operations, it's entering its fourth day. israeli tanks, infantry and other armor are moving in towards gaza city. the hamas headquarters for the north, from the east, from the south. clashes are reported with militants including in their vast tunneled network where some of the hostages could be hidden. israel says an airstrike overnight killed a key hamas commander. his name is nasa sem abu ajima. he was respond cybil according to the israelis for some of the october 7 at least one has been freed 19-year-old israeli military private ore meghan dish. she is said to be safe and in good condition. and back with her family and very happy. despite the fact that much of gaza is in ruins and civilians are facing a huge humanitarian crisis as they are representing kind of a human shield for hamas. prime minister benjamin netanyahu refused again to call for a cease-fire. take a listen. >> just as the united states would not agree to a cease-fire after the bombing of pearl harbor offer after the terrorist attack of 9/11, israel will not agree too cessation of hostilities with hamas after the horrific attacks of october 7th. >> and up here in the north, there are escalating clashes between the israeli military and iranian backed hezbollah. we are hearing the drones overhead right now there are also associated groups throughout the region, not just targeting israel but the u.s. and other allies. this uptick, guys, no doubt triggered by the escalating activity in gaza. trouble on many, many fronts, folks. back to you. >> steve: greg, speaking of many fronts, i was reading today that the idf is moving on gaza city from three different directions, from the north, from the east, and from the south. they are also telling the people to leave gaza city. and i heard during the press conference that we ran yesterday on fox said something like 90% of the people in gaza city have already left. so 10% -- 10% are currently hunkered down. if they decide to go south, they are going to have to walk by tanks to get there. >> that is the big problem, really. israel claiming 90% have left. the u.n. has a little bit different numbers. they are saying something like 300, 400,000 civilians are still there in the northern half of that country and that -- the gaza strip, and that is exactly where the israeli military is aiming at. and they have, indeed, cut off the main evacuation north-south road according to reports. tanks are heeding vehicles there it seems like the civilians that are left will have to hunker down, hope for the best. there will be massive gun fight. there will be block-to-block fighting. remember, guys, the israeli military is still on kind of open ground. they're on the fringes of this urban area. once the urban warfare starts like many urban warfares that we have witnessed personally, for example, new jersey in 2004, in iraq, it's going to be very, very nasty. back to you. >> brian: all right, greg. thanks so much. let's bring in mosab author of son of hamas. he grew up in that environment, went to prison. realized that he wanted a different life. and is now here to give us insight on hamas and the organization. the israelis hope to take apart. first off mosab, great to see you. i'm wondering did you know the guy that we just took out that israel just took out? >> i didn't know him personally. >> ainsley: how significant is this? >> not a high profile. i think he is important because he was part of the operation on october 7th, we are looking for the big names mohammed, sanwar and the other hamas top leaders when we start and i think soon. we are going to start hearing about their names and i hope just like dominoes. >> steve: right. well, this guy was important. because, in addition to one of the directors of the october 7th attack, he also was one of the guys in charge of their -- what they refer to as their aerial forces. he hopes develop drones and paragliders, which of course, famously were used on october the 7th. >> look, i commend all the warriors right now on the ground. they are brave, they are fighting on our behalf, on my behalf and your behalf, on behalf of the free world. they're courageous. and we give them all the support that they need. this is good progress, okay? we have lots of work to do. >> steve: indeed. >> now we need very strong seat. we need some help, put pressure on the egyptian government so they can order the border for the depart. i don't care if they depart for good. they can go for good. we don't need gaza there gaza is a big refugee camp that was supposed to be demolished 70 years ago. but they kept the whole that were given by the united nations and the other countries. and this is how we have this crisis right now. at this moment, we have war. civilians are there, wrong place. instead of the united nations blaming everybody, and saying humanitarian drivers. they should allow the civilians evacuate. egypt has to open the borders. the united states must put pressure, apply tremendous pressure on the egyptian government to open the freakin' border. you know, the united states give egypt in military aid close to $1.3 billion from the taxpayer money every year. they can put some pressure. israel can put pressure on israel. but the united states can let all the palestinians who are in the gaza strip evacuate immediately so israel can do the job correctly and eradicate this barbaric organization. >> lawrence: mosab, i hear the frustration in your voice. and your point is duly noted because, as you know, hamas is using all the civilians that are there as human shields. i want to go back into the organization because i also heard your frustration there what you are saying is that this guy will be easily replaced. most of the leaders don't live on gaza strip. they are not even there. so, can you explain it our audience what the organization structure is of hamas? >> okay. this guy belongs to the military but israel is not only going against the military wing on the gaza front. trust me. as we speak right now, we have a dozen intelligent services around the world including our intelligence services that they're on the tail of hamas leaders abroad. especially the political wing. and sooner or later, they are going to be brought to justice. they are not going to get away with this. but, at the gaza front is the most significant front right now because there are civilians involved there are hostages involved. and we have to move slowly. so, every day you are going to hear about those guys. we will eradicate them i'm sorry israeli has the power burr we cannot move in very fast. we have to apply unbreechable and for long enough to deplete hamas, deprive them, to starve them. we have to cut every meal of life from them. then after that we can move faster. right now we cannot risk more lives. more israeli soldiers lives by pushing them towards group. we have to move slowly. he slow maneuver not the d-day type invasion. they are about two miles in and yesterday they freed one hostage. i can imagine she is going to talk. the other hostages they release are talking. do you think move the idf in? >> look, the best way to do is to work silently and collect intelligence. this somewhat we need. we need information. the moment we have information it doesn't matter, even if they are 20 miles away, there will be a special force going behind the enemy lines. it doesn't matter where they are. we will get to the hostages. most importantly, we need intelligence. it's good that we are on the ground, because this gets us closer to target. and i hope that within the next days or weeks we will have good news and i'm sure israel doing everything they can to bring those hostages back to their families. >> ainsley: you mentioned the top commanders. you you named them.where are th? >> will sinwar is most likely under a hospital some 30 meters deep in the sand, which sand is very resilient to bombing. it's not easy to get to him. and in order to kill him, probably we will have to destroy the entire hospital. but, he's not going to hide forever. you know, we are coming after him. armies, angels of heavens and earth are after those terrorists and barbaric people. we are going to eradicate them. there is no escape. >> reason if he escapes gaza we are going after him. everybody knows. will. >> steve: mosab in the idf says in the last day they struck 300 targets including anti-tank missile and rocket launch posts which were below shafts, they say. as well as military compounds inside underground tunnels belonging to the hamas terrorist organization. so, the idf is down in the tunnels and apparently it sounds like the militants are responding. they are shooting anti-tank missiles and machine gunfire at the idf. the question for you regarding there is knowing what you do about hamas, you know, when you are down in the tunnels, are those tunnels booby-trapped? are people wearing belt bombs like we saw with al-qaeda and isis? i mean, what do idf social have to worry about whether they are down in that hole? >> well, first of all, they have different types of canons. the idf is talking about most likely defensive canons. tunnels. this type of tunnels hamas use for constructed with the goal to deploy their members behind enemy line in case of israel invasion. this is the job of the idf. we need to move slowly because we need to discover all these tunnels. and without revealing so much, idf has technology to detect and be able to at least cut the snake in small parts if they are not able to cut the head we are able to cut the snake in small parts not allow hamas to escape those troubles. we can trap them in those tunnels not having to say much about this. now the target is the offensive tunnels. later on it's going to be a lot more complicated, which is the defensive tunnels. those are the unders under the populated areas. hence, i say the united states must put pressure on egypt to open the border. we need all the civilians out so we can have the freedom to eradicate them. >> lawrence: is it just getting civilians out. knowing what you know about the organization and tunnel structure and knowing there is going to be a lot of h.r. hostage rescues. can israel do it without the united states help on the ground as well? >> of course not. of course not. ened the united states whether we like it or not, because if we don't show power we are going to be next. in fact, this hamas, iran russia is aiming at the united states through israel. we all realize this problem. in fact, i would like to see more presence of the united states. more military presence. i'm not talking about military action. there is a big difference between having the presence that we are here, we are ready. and, if you dare to launch a missile from iran or from hezbollah, we are going to hit you and we are going to hit you very hard. so, this just waiving the stick, i'm not saying to take part. could prevent us from a regional war. could prevent us from world war iii. >> brian: the problem is we are not hitting back at all. we have been attacked 23 times in iraq and syria. is that a problem in the world that you left? >> sorry, did i not understand the question. >> brian: we have been in our bases in iraq and syria multiple times. 23 times. we have only answered back once is that a problem in the land that you left? >> we have responded that one time as you mentioned. this latest air base is al-assad in western iraq and hosts u.s. troops and other international forces. carried out early this morning by two armed drones told riotert did not leave to any damage. the attack on american bases in the region result of wrong american policies in the region. which we hope it will correct. you reap what you sow. strikes have had happened in iraq and syria. those have been the number of times that those bases have been attacked since october 17th. it includes an additional two times this weekend by iranian proxies. many of the attacks were failed or intercepted by u.s. military air defenses. there were 14 attacks against u.s. troops in iraq and nine in syria in the last two weeks if you divide it up. according to reporting from our jennifer griffin the u.s. military does not count rocket attacks on its bases and outpost that land more than a mile from those bases which is true of many of these attacks which makes calculating this number kind of complicated here. u.s. forces carried out airstrikes in southeastern syria last week in response to attacks on troops that have incr increan recent weeks by iranian proxies. striking a weapons depot and ammo storage area believed to be used by iran's will guard. jake sullivan has spoken out about this. he has maintained that the u.s. is taking every measure necessary to protect u.s. forces. and feels that iran is understanding the message that has been sent. but, guys there is concerns about security at these bases, specifically in iraq, syria. i think specifically syria that they are under manned when it comes to security. and some criticism that simply by attacking ammo storage depots, it's not enough. guys?
