24 There have been many “Jude” moments over the past few months; small yet significant situations that made the Borussia Dortmund coaching staff turn towards each other in a mixture of disbelief and pride. On one of those occasions last month, Dortmund were playing second division Holstein Kiel in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal, Germany’s FA Cup. With little time to go, Dortmund were 5-0 up and coasting. Except for one player. “I remember him sprinting back into his own half as if his life was dependent on it,” assistant coach Otto Addo recalls. “That’s him summed up.
