Police have issued nearly 113,000 coronavirus fines, most for breaking curfew

Dutch police have issued nearly 113,000 fines for breaking the coronavirus regulations in the 13 months to April 1, according to new police figures. In addition, they have issued 40,555 written warnings.
By far the most fines – 64% – have been issued to people who broke the curfew, which was introduced on January 23. The fine for being out after the deadline is €95.
Most fines – 10,461 – were handed out in Amsterdam and Rotterdam has the second highest total with 9,180. By contrast in the Groningen towns of Delfzijl and Appingedam just one fine has been issued since the start of the pandemic.
