Ypsilanti man charged with sexually assaulting minor in Bay City on New Year’s Day Updated Apr 29, 2021; Facebook Share BAY CITY, MI — A former Bay City resident is charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl on New Year’s Day. Alejandro C. Cervantes, 26, is charged with two counts of third- and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Third-degree involves penetration while second-degree is limited to touching. Both are punishable by up to 15 years in prison. According to an affidavit contained in court files, a girl between the ages of 13 and 15 told investigators that she was at Cervantes’ residence on Bay City’s East Side on Jan. 1, 2020. While there, Cervantes and the girl exchanged oral sex, the affidavit states.
