But back in 2018, the same journalists were desperate to find a negative framing when the Trump administration negotiated the release of three American hostages from North Korea. Broadcast networks ABC, CBS, and NBC regarded Griner’s return to America on Thursday as a Biden victory. ABC chief White House correspondent Cecilia Vega chimed: “This is a major win for this White House; this is a major win for the country.”
