While the Detroit Pistons considered trading down from the top selection, it became clear leading up to Thursday evening that the Oklahoma State star would be that top selection. Detroit made it official in Brooklyn, picking up the transcendent talent with the first overall pick in a decision that could change the landscape of the organization big time moving forward. The 6-foot-8 Cade Cunningham averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 40% from distance for Oklahoma State last season. He’s an elite prospect and a future NBA All-Star at either guard position. Think Ben Simmons with an actual shooting ability.
