It will be a Christmas like no other, but local churches are doing what they can to accommodate those who wish to attend services this year.
Some have gone with a specific ticket system, while most are putting on extra masses, with warnings that numbers will be restricted.
The Parish acknowledges that Christmas Eve or Day Mass is very special for many people, including those who do not regularly attend church. Indeed, one of the satisfying sights every Christmas is the jam-packed churches. However, this cannot happen this year, St Peter s PP, Canon Eugene Sweeney stated.
He added that both St Peter s and the Lourdes are very large churches, but the numbers able to attend Mass at present are very considerably reduced due to social distancing and increased cleaning demands. Seats will be offered on a first come basis. There will be no booking or ticketing system.
