The, [000 00 00;00] the, at the end of the 19th century, africa was divided between european empires, which mercilessly oppressed the indigenous population. Modern day tends and he used to be a german colony. The germans levied heavy taxes on local drives, and use them as free labor on cotton plantations. Professions protest turned into an uprising against the colonial list under the banner of the religious movement of the magazine. Margie, it was led by a man named kinsey, could do the rebels use guerrilla tactics because they did not have the power to grasp the german army in head on confrontation. But the germans were not able to suppress the resistance of the guerrillas either. So the invaders decided to starve that population to day. One of the commanders of the german troops kept in wagon. Heim wrote only anger and one can lead to final submission. Military actions alone will remain more or less a drop in the ocean. The glass for miss bland were the invaders burned villages and fields. In 2 years, germany deliberately starved up to 300000 people to death. Later the monstrous experience of the 2nd right in tanzania was copied by the 3rd right. Lead by the nazis in order to extra pay the be bows of europe. The say like wait a minute or will it back so . Oh yeah, usually i slowly get arrested. Mann middle school and get arrested, a substation wait, they say i go to adult, print the process. We do all around. Were not trying to handle like were not going anywhere. It would be 2 weeks. So South Carolina and go back to new york to handle some of those the 3 weeks. The South Carolina go back to new york, have some business, including, but not limited to policy, so immensely. I just relocated because there was a bigger conversation and i just kind of walk away from it. So may of 2016. We started before organization, every black girl. Every black girl started off as a campaign to get the charges dropped and started looking at how to shift School Culture when it comes to push out. And this mental disturbance go along the once the investigation was on, they took everything and they presented it to dan johnson, who was the solicitor who was the chief prosecutor originally across all county. He looked at the case to decide if in fact there was enough to charge probable cause to charge me with a crime. And this particular situation, all parties cleared may have a role doing me the okay. For my masters degree, i was at university of South Carolina. I was looking at how the land holds trauma. Theres trauma across this land and nature as taking it over. But the issue still remain because history doesnt work the same way that nature, the past lives in the present. Wow. You can see hundreds of acres of rice field here built on the backs of the slave labor force. These african engineers, right that had been brought from the rise coast of africa, 3000 miles across. The dont bring people here. And i brought you here cuz you asked me to bring why here for you, why did you want to get here . As an african american, you know, your yeah, history stops at a point. You know, so much is not documented in the absence of records and names in the absence of other ways to connect to your history. The last and you know, this is how you connect to that history. You can see the where its not just black people when he can see like the neglect and how it manifests in people and groups and communities and cultures and how you go into some communities, black and brown communities you see is dilapidated like the right or you can see the, the, the lack of care that this investment in aware that accumulates from that. Yeah. Murphy island is a big place, and it holds a very ugly history. But its being conveniently washed away. Its a will for neglect. I think it allows these ugly histories to be ignored, and to be sweat under the rock. We have to recognize that slavery is white peoples history to the Spring Valley scratched away the scan of memories from 50 years ago. The somehow people assume that were Turner Industries Public Schools and weve gone to a place where people, young people will be taught and will be safe and secure as it is, it somehow got tired in the video of facebook. So i start reading the comments, the boss breaks off some price on the, on the back, some of this, some of the shipping. I just got a bill and rep norman english and a lot of them will talk to me. Thank you miss chuck im in a long better place. Not going through a lot, but im have to pull through a lot of times i dont want to do all, but i will talk to them in about an issue with some issues like we need to keep moving the situation who is talking from door to oh, right, how you doing what you desire to be afraid of just by everyone else. Because i cant seem to let everybody else to tell me life i live. Never saw. I want to know. And thats not a reason why ive started school, you know, in our cna program is strong. Esl, i mean has next because she answer some of the same thing. They were not sure how i lived that moment. And this moment as time had i been born in this moment in time, the moment that she met i live, i remember being so tired at school that day. Mister smith said a math problem and i dont like math. I didnt understand what he says or reached over to my friend. What do you understand what he told us to do . He said, vivian, there you go again. And im like, no, i just dont understand what youre saying. You always get smart to always talk is something you always doing is i grew up in time, a call from furnished me. Right. And i was like, no, you just dont make sense to me. I dont understand. I actually know i got a smart mouth, but i wasnt trying to be smart. I just did not understand. And that night on that day i was really tired. And he was like, i got something for you and he pulled off the title because we used to be able to get a pedal. And i was like, not today. Yeah, i dont know what i went through last night. I ran from a brother all night. Im not, nobodys touching me, nobody hit me, not this. I mean i had to raise me around the whole classroom and so he got hired and he said, im tired. You me. The different a social work a caught me is so hurt. Change for relationship with school forever. What if Somebody Just asked the girl what dev. Cuz i remember like no i just got beat last night. I got some place assignment for what besides, what is somebodys just this little girl . What was going on . Like i dont remember, its come up to the 3rd age of 13. I want to fight somebody off my black body, my black female body, and then i was punished because i wanted to dress pants because im like, like i dont pass, you cant get up there, easy enough. So when i bought a video, a lot of stuff came up for me and i was like, oh they dont get to watch too slow. I know what it means to walk. I dont know, they dont have that. No. And then you said no, you dont treat her like this and then you get arrested. Oh, come on. No, not, not, not. Like heres good to be beautiful in love. Then they get to fill their full expression to themselves and not feel like so if im not this, im not ok. They were board whole perfect, complete. Its up to us. They keep it like not the, its our refund. The ok if the elephant in the world be very clear, when this went down was i like, oh there is a grown man who just assaulted a child. Yes, i did for a girl who wouldnt get out of her chair. Right. Right. Thats a child got this little girl. Is there any other way that this could have gone down . This is like just insane. And i still cant understand how it hasnt been likes to car. I apologize. It shouldnt look different. There hasnt been apology. I think she is old. What of the, the, youre critical of, of the situation in critical with me. I think thats fine. I was acting as a uniform police officer. Obviously, i was terminated for the, for the incident, for the use of force because the share felt like it was in proper. Okay. But certainly it wasnt, you know, it wasnt no salt in any way, shape or form. You know, i was a political victim in this situation. Mean i was cut loose pics politically. It made sense . If i file a policy and procedure and i filed the law, theres nothing more i can do because thats my responsibility. Thats the oaks that i took. I just continue to a Law Enforcement level. I stand by what i did that so you say you came in from the eyes of a police officer. It didnt have to go that far. But if im looking at a criminal, another child yeah. Can go that far because i read the report the class wasnt really interrupted until this teacher got upset, but she wouldnt leave. Why not remove the other kids and handle her because you said youve known her before, so it was some deeper stuff. So there could have been a light, what is it thats making you not want to be . Well, i certainly understand, but close to me, they feel the same way you knew about that situation when youre talking about classroom management, things like that. So its not the 1st time ive heard that, and thats fair. If i went to follow the patrol, when i called to a Movie Theater, to move somebody from Movie Theater, i would ask the Movie Theater to leave, or i went to a restaurant and needs removed somebody from a restaurant, witness the restaurant to right. And so i viewed it from a police standpoint and thats, thats where we keep going back to the system that created this to happen. You havent been my focus for the system has been my focus. I dont believe police in be in schools. Theres no reason that you should have been called in period. All right, i got you. Yeah. So let me, let me say a couple things. One is i would say obviously, you know, we, we know that an s or on a school doesnt mean safety. I dont disagree with that. One of the biggest issues for me right now is the stickiness. Ers and schools werent even sure in properly. But the guy who does it goes back a little bit. Its okay to disappoint it is okay to hold kids accountable. Im not saying kids dont get to be held accountable. Always tend is like what does that accountability look like . We should not have a law where kids are being arrested for things that they cant get arrested outside industries for the the, to look at the system. What system are you referring to . You say the system we need to change the system. I hope you understand. So when i say systems, im talking about governmental education, institutionalized racism, all the policies they recreate, all the laws that we create. Thats what i mean about the system. Okay, so, you know, you know, the systematic race isnt always kind of stuff. I think its talking points. I think it sounds really good on its face. But its one of those things where were taking the oldest again off the kids and saying, hey, youre not responsible for your bad behavior. What were going to do is were going to blame it on the system. And one of the things that, you know, we, we looked at with the service law was brought up a lot was additional force on the black is were rest of the white is right. And it just proportional amount of black kids were suspended to white kids. I mean, as you look as a whole, i mean you any School District and thats gonna be the case. Okay. Why is that happening . In your opinion . There is a tendency to think that black kids are automatically at bought. Those one was run in the hallways and know, so what was ran in the hallways. Yes, this one got the discipline referral and those was like, well, you know, you cant do that is something going on. Theres a way that where with young people, depending on if theyre white versus children of color, and thats the best that says stickly proven in, in the schools where the, where it was this proportional. They also have black deputies. How do you explain that . Are these bodies black deputies and hes black teachers . Are they part of the system thats hurting laughing . Then we talk about internalize and pressure. So if i see that ive been trained all my life, that this is better than this. I push the same narrative and i act in accordance to so yeah, we can go all day on the problems. I dont, i cant talk about problems too much because we already know their, their focus is how does the trace solutions, how do we create solution . And we keep talking about holding kids accountable, but we get to hold adults accountable to cuz were responsible for the next generation we really or right. So i think thats good. And i think that going back, somebody can make a point of the class the years, but a child experience. And i literally only came here to stay for 2 days. So to look out right now and to know what weve been doing and how many girls i got. So huh. The say, no matter what this world tells us, you are, you are a, you are the ground because the more so we are the 1st flight and there were some challenges ahead. She didnt want to sit in the classroom with her back toward the door. So i had to rearrange my classroom to make sure that she was comfortable for her, not the fear of someone coming up behind her. She expressed that, hey, im not getting bad. And i told her either like a reading teacher, but i told her i said if you put your mind to is something that you can do. It was almost to you years that she had to work to accomplish this goal. She had so many challenges before she before someone in the care the once she figured out that hey, they care what i do and it matters what i do that made all the different the, the long row if you use this is evidence that no matter what life throw issue and a mass and that you cant get past nothing that you can create. Yeah, and have you to think for a lot youve been like there is times where i cant get to the doctor use like a 2nd mom to make sure i got there. You will not be away. No matter what time of day it was to be there, you know, i can come you and tell you everything and know a lot of our thoughts made me keep going. Thank you. What happened to you should not happen to anybody . But like i told you from the beginning, youve got me for life, my life shift, it totally changed on a 1000. So congress that we wouldnt have known and been able to reach, weve been able to reach rate. And so, and i owe that to you. Thats what i said, so you got me for life. My word is my boss. So the, there are many people in this country, especially in South Carolina who say, yeah, slaverys done. Whats the big deal . Right, why do black people act like as theyre still in slaves array of slavery . The 1st lady was yesterday, so i can just ended, nobodys owning people anymore. But we have inherited that mentality of racial impression. This idea that within our society, certain people belonging to certain places, black people belong in a subjugated space like they, they belong in there and under class of people. And if youre in the under class, then you do what youre told you dont challenge the system. And your face is to make white people comfortable by not talking about race by not acting out by not by changing the way we talk and changing the way we act. So the white people feel comfortable windows on said rules of who belongs, where is challenged. Thats when the rad this fell, the america, the recent debt, sup, george boyd, brianna taylor, barbary or off fueling massive demonstrations. Nationwide. Testers are demanding americans that have been facing systemic racism. The are now the dont get to lead our microcosm of what we like. What happened to Spring Valley. What brought us here around there was a 17 Year Old Girl watching 3 figures of like body and they know you can do yours. And 17 year old blind girl found the whole thing. You know, you can do this, the nation just had the i keep spanish not about be and once again, this is bigger than him. Hes a representation of what we see on a larger scale of white america. He still doesnt understand the difference between accountability and blame. So as long as he thinks hes going to be blind, hes never going to say, oh i see my role in the face a been which is one bad apple. Well no, this whole barrow is contaminated as long as this garden at the top. And thats a place where its being granite permission. This is going to be another band on another day, the way the man, the from the lease. And i still need to contact your school board, your mirror and your governor and tell them Police Officers to be removed as social services education, our teachers because our lives depend on it. But also im very clear and im getting also, i know i am going to find that we should all be here for a long time. The think weve actually slipped over. We dont change it now, but will never change it again. This is the moment the test today in downtown l. A. This time by students, theyre pushing to eliminate the School Police to for the on the protesters. Little march through oakland, california on tuesday to demand police free one, pennsylvania. And the education breaks that work on the district to remove police from campuses, minneapolis floor boards that it would no longer use city police as School Resource officer in the. So im headed to michigan in the middle of a pandemic because the girl who we are referring to is grace was arrested for failing to complete her Online School work. Ringback i prefer not to have to travel again in the hope is that wont even be an opportunity for me to go because there will be no more. She cars and grace is the, [000 00 00;00] the, [000 00 00;00] the, the 0 near ship did it should. So with
