Martha Reeves and the band and Daniel Powter before that now just imagine you turn up to your works christmas do this Christmas. And find yourself being entertained by Paul McCartney Well that s what happened at the New England motor freight company in New Jersey last weekend the reason being is that it s owned by puls father in law. Nancy his wife is actually an executive there as well so. They were she actually organized the party and Paul gave of his best he was there they went there from the start to the finish 7 pm till midnight. And had a final time they dancing along and also sang a song to Nancy and he sang. Acapella with the band but anyway he sang I Saw Her Standing There. Gloria Gaynor and I will survive with Bryan Adams or Mel c. Before that now for our next story I would say that if you study geography at university you probably don t want to hear one about. But for everybody else you can make yourself feel a bit superior. It seems that geography has become a soft option for teenagers from wealthy backgrounds who don t have the sharpest brains that s the judgment of Professor Danny Dorling. Who claims that geography departments have some of the narrowest and poshest social profiles that universities now Danny is a fellow at some Peters college and he says in Oxford that is and he says that undergraduates may have gained high exam grades at school but often as often as not they are not good at math writing or imagination and he insists that geography in the u.k. Has become a soft option from those who come from the upper middle class. This is quite damning stuff he says that back in the late 1970 s. This trend started prior to that boys from top private schools tended to add to the military of the city. He wrote this in the journal Emotion space and society and he says they were more and more usually seen by their peers as not having done that well and hence having had to apply to study geography He says many of them can then take the university degrees and head out to banking advertising and management to make the world an even worse place I think a bit of a shoulder here but anyway if you want to just think about this all of the following people. Studied and got geography degrees you make your own mind up about whether they then have made a contribution or not but anyway Prince William. Michael Jordan the basketball player.
