When you submitted music to the introducing program the soulless party Yes When did you start making electronic music. I ve been on it for a number of years now and I used to be under another guys actually to be myself or my cousin we used to have a bit of a band. Called motorbikes and talkie Oh OK that was more of a electro Poppy kind of an affair so you know myself and since and him and we you know I d sing a few tracks and he would get a bit of a. Modicum of success down in London of all places you know a few gigs that we did a bit of a following down there but yeah that lasted for all of about 3 years I think or so . And there was a little album there as well after finding out for one day place yeah and then it got quiet I got got married and this is my 10th year so happy anniversary congratulations this is awesome if you re listening. And yeah and so things were a bit quiet on that front but I was you know time progressed I was getting that you feet in that you think it s just one of those kind of get involved again and there was the the haunt ology scene of music was was kind of taking my or catch my eye or ear and I quite like the ghost box. Label and what they were producing it we should talk a little bit about this so this is a musical scene haunt ology Yeah I guess emerged in the last 15 years or so that s right and very much taking inspiration from music of the 1970 S. Eighty s and all the influences as well absolutely but all creating a sound that reminiscent and redolent of the feeling of growing up in the 1970 S. And possibly being a bit unsettled last criteria of the sound of public information Selmes and B.B.C. Programmes. Schools and Colleges and library music and general retro this absolute ghost box records are at the forefront of things really absolutely I think it was John Brooks with the advisory circle that 1st kind of really grabbed me I mean I think. That brilliant musician and I was completely sucked in by the sound he was calm it was that whole familiarity even though it was never it didn t exist the music producing of it like it was hard like it was themed tracks to school programs you know back in the day and what have you and it dishonors so familiar so yeah I really consumed all of that stuff early in the year and it inspired me and it was very you know this is kind of the direction I mean I m not getting younger now movie of a certain age and I ll be produce probably be looking to produce music that would you know much a similar age group I guess but then obviously want to mimic or copy those guys of course box and Jim drop in the lights but I wanted to kind of go or the similar route but try and think up something a little bit something quite different with a hint of electronica into really or phonic if you will and some orchestral sounds and yeah and things like that so that s kind of down the route that I took a soulless party yourself yes writer Chris Lambert Yes produced lots of material for you and you ve created this wonderful little universe really. Your slightly vague about how much. Is a lot of the music and the literature that you ve produced between you has been centered around the black meadow Yes you call that that s right it s haunted area of the North York you know about the folklore attached to the area yes and tales from the black meadow Yeah and was the album that I heard which is just been reissued has done a quick reissues put it s going to be the last time. For a while because we are bringing out a sequel of sorts or how we thank you for making the complete what I wrote on the fantastic is a man whose knees it isn t just a man s man. This is a follow up this album been as a follow up to that 2016 album which is which is called Manifesto So you have a dig out on bond come for that and it seems to be about the album this burn album seems to be about troubles that they re facing as artists or some artists are facing in the area in terms of finding good venues to play you know the smaller bands and such it just seems to be that Newcastle is just very much are a large drinking and bar culture right and so there is a bit of a struggle social call compelling stuff ready.
